XML Notepad is an open source XML editor based on the some features of the Notepad, however, at the same time is very different from the simple text editor as well. Open source is a free XMLSpy download and remember that open source is also a shareware and freeware alternative. Serna Free is an open source, powerful XML editor.
Did not verify all the details on the editor but I had a hard time finding how to change some settings. Some are in the options dailog soma (like the font size) are not. Also I could not change the color coding. As I want to use the tool for documenting I need to copy not only the text but also the formatting. The indentation is set to 1 space where the common is 4. This cannot be changed and makes the readability of the XML very hard. It could be a good tool but I gave it 3 stars for the not so user friendly interface.
I need to write a XML-based markup language. I'd like to provide an open source IDE for it, but I don't want to write it from scratch. So, I'm looking for an open source XML editor, written in C#, with WinForms or WPF UI, which I'll can extend it and add my markup language validation and etc, with the following features: • XML Syntax Highlighting like VS • Auto Completion • Validation It's license should be that I can edit it and then release it, with the source code. Are there any things like that?
